Unmatched Assistance

An evolving curriculum drives INSTALL training. Courses are based on counsel from technical and educational representatives from major mills and manufacturers throughout North America, as well as the makers of flooring installation tools and materials such as adhesives, fillers, levelers, and finishes. This ongoing participation in the content and delivery of the INSTALL curriculum makes certain that instruction is meeting the needs of today's marketplace.

Unrivaled Instructors
More than 100 veteran instructors deliver the INSTALL curriculum every day. These professional instructors stay current on the latest in industry materials, trends, and installation innovations through a rigorous “train-the-trainer” program. Each instructor is required to attend classes at the UBC's state-of-the-art International Training Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Unequaled Facilities
There are 25 training sites throughout North America that provide INSTALL's standardized, quality curriculum—24 sites throughout the United States and Canada and a 178,000-square-foot UBC International Training Center in Las Vegas. Each site reflects the INSTALL curriculum, standards, quality, and professionalism. All INSTALL facilities are equipped with the workspace, tools, and materials necessary for trainees to practice their skills on real-world projects.

The INSTALL training program requires a minimum of four years of in-depth training in an exhaustive curriculum that leaves no relevant issue unaddressed. Curriculum content includes theory and practice of the proper installation procedures for:

• Carpet
• Linoleum, vinyl, and other resilients
• Vinyl composition tile
• Hardwood
• Laminate
• Tile and stone
• Artificial turf and sports surfaces

The end result is a workforce that is confident and qualified to install any kind of floor, in any kind of configuration, in residential, commercial, and institutional settings.

Our standards are reviewed on a regular basis by the labor departments of the United States federal and Canadian provincial governments, in an effort to maintain an acceptable level of national competence. Because this helps determine the nations' ability to compete for global business opportunities, this scrutiny is rigorous. To meet the requirements of this review, INSTALL has established industry-wide standards for:

• Fundamental, core installer skills
• Graduated levels of skill competence and experience
• Written proof of theoretical knowledge and hands-on skill testing
• External educational accreditation for trainers and trainees
