The patented innovations of the SFS enable surgeons to work efficiently with surety. The pedicle screws provide a full 42º multi-axial range of motion that, in conjunction with their uniquely tapered heads, are more accommodating to variables in patient anatomy/pathology. This makes screw placement easier and reduces the need for rod bending. Additionally, the fixation screw utilizes patented buttress threads that minimize the potential for misalignment or cross-threading—feel it once and you'll know there's a difference.
- Greater range of motion in multi-axial pedicle screws
- Tapered heads conform more closely to anatomy
- Patented buttress thread locking screws
- Reduced need for rod bending
The SFS cross-connector is designed for drop-in loading; no need for patient repositioning. It provides three ranges of motion (rotation, angulation, translation), yet requires only two lock-down screws to be secured. Pedicle screws are color-coded for easy selection during procedures and, like the instrumentation, are housed in a readily accessible, modular case. Instruments employ interchangeable T-grip and screwdriver-style ratcheting handles.
- Drop-in cross connector with three ranges of motion
- Interchangeable ratcheting instrument handles
- Color-coding of screws; ergonomic case/tray system
The Blackstone SFS components have been engineered to match the real conditions surgeons face during a procedure, utilizing patented design advantages to benefit both surgeon and patient.
